The Therapy Process… What to Expect
I work by arranging an initial meeting with the referrer(s).
This is followed by 2 assessment sessions. This is where the therapist observes the specific needs of the client(s). A report will summarise the therapeutic aims of the first period of therapy. A contract between the referrer and the therapist is then created.
In my practice, One period of Music Therapy is a minimum of 10 sessions. I will communicate the progress of the client through either a written report - or if preferred, a telephone call
How does therapy end?
The ending to therapy needs to be carefully managed. I advise a five-session countdown to allow the client to process the end of the therapy relationship.
